Covid-19 taught us our mainland import reliance is unsustainable and prone to disruptions.
Small Family farmers provide around 86% of the food grown in the US, forming the backbone of our food security.
Maui continues to import up to 90% of its food, despite having the most dynamic climate diversity on the planet.
At the same time, farmers are saddled with high debt, thus unable to bring greater efficiency to their operations.
